Pyodermatitis - Pyostomatitis Vegetans

Today we had a great case of pyodermatitis - pyostomatitis vegetans (PD-PSV) which is a rare neutrophilic dermatoses characterized by vegetative plaques with heaped up well-defined boarders, pustular and vesicular lesions and mucocutaneous involvement.

Specifically we see a significant association between PD-PSV and IBD at a case report level.  Thus expert opinion is that we should screen all patients with PD-PSV for IBD with either a fecal calprotectin or colonoscopy.
